So here it is… I am very slowly falling in love with Android. This romance is still in its early stages. I am still metaphorically stealing glances from afar, working my way up to my ‘big move’.
You see, I have been having a lukewarm affair with iOS for some years now. Never an Apple fan by any means, but seduced like others in the heady days of innovation and originality and then seemingly trapped by all the wonderful things I felt I couldn’t do without. But I am tired of my Apple mistress, always promising more than she delivered, always teasing but never delivering.
I yearn for something new and exciting, something useful and intuitive, and iOS7 was just the final nail in the coffin for me. Goodbye iPhone, it was fun while it lasted but you are just a mess these days, you have lost your way and me with it.
Enough of my technological love affairs. I am a designer, so at the end of the day I am easily captured by pretty pictures, like a rabbit in headlights. Android is pretty, so I like it. It is also easily customisable, so again I like it. I enjoy icon design for Android as much as I want to own it.
