BaxterStorey - Icon Design

Creative Freedom were tasked with providing a set of icons in a unique 'sketch' icon style for BaxterStorey's Intrantet based software. The custom icons needed to be independant of the BaxterStorey brand and sit happily with any of their customer branding. The icon design we came up with uses muted colours and a unique style to reduce the likelihood of the icons clashing when used with customer branding. One of the icons was developed into a new logo.

TTP LabTech are market leaders in the design and production of high quality, robust automated laboratory equipment for both the academic and industrial sectors of Pharmaceutical and Biotech research.
Creative Freedom were tasked with producing a new logo and set of interface Icons for the 'Mirrorball' microplate cytometry software. The new icon design needed to fit in with moder Windows 7 Icons and TTP labtech's distinctive brand colours. We chose the most suited icon designer from our large team, to work on this technology based icon design project.

Ascott Analytical, market leaders in surface test equipment, needed a set of navigation icons for their new website 'test 2' that features a range of hand held surface coating test instruments. Our icon design team produced a number of concept sketches which were refined into several fully rendered icons representing different test classifications such as 'Adhesion', Viscosity' & ' Temperature', which are used on the site to enhance the navigation.

The 'Cool Elephant' logo was created by our icon design team for a new iPad and iPhone App that will be released shortly. Our custom icon designers took the verbal brief and started with a simple pencil sketches which required only minmal changes before arriving at the final icon design. "Prism" is one of VisionWare's latest software suites enabling organisations to manage relationships between assets, events and individuals in an intuitive and graphical manner.
Creative Freedom's Xaml Icon designers were tasked with developing a set of vector based icons, compatible with the Microsoft Silverlight development environment. The use of vector based icons (that scale without degradation) was critical to Prism which allows users to zoom and scale almost every element of the software interface in order to track and 'dig-down' into the graphically represented relationships.
Our challenge was to develop clear and intuitive icon designs that would maintain their integrity over a near infinite level of scaling in either direction.
We also developed the Prism Logo, software GUI and various menu elements to produce a completely homogenous design.

Catlin Software are iPhone and iPod Touch application designers. They needed our design team to help re-skin their popular 'Dictionary' App. Creative Freedom provided several Icon and Loading Screen concepts along with the final skin files for the upcoming release.
Our Mobile App Icon Designers also created icons and splash screens specifically for the Palm Pre and Android mobile platforms.
Dictionary is a free iPhone application that can be found in Apple's App Store.

US-based technology startup Dropbox have been using the open-source famfamfam icon set, but needed a number of the icons enlarged from 16x16 pixels to 48x48 pixels to improve usability. Our icon designers took the original icon files and up-scaled them while staying true to the original icon design.

Datanomic, located in Cambridge, required a custom icon design for thier database management software. The software suite included some unique and very specific icon concepts pertaining to database manipulation. Custom Icon Design was the logical solution and this icon project generated a real challenge to out custom icon design team. The end result was a 3D custom icon design style, with all the icons produced in a number of different sizes for use in different parts of the software.

Our Vista Icon Designers developed a glossy effect for their icons that fits in very well with the standard Vista icon design style, whilst still giving the nCipher Vista icon design style a unique feel.
IBM - Icon Design
Project: Microsoft Office Style Icon Design
IBM had very specific requirements for this icon design project. The icon design style had to be as close as possible to Microsoft's Office 2003 icon style. Although many of the icons look almost identical to the Microsoft versions, each and every icon design was drawn from scratch to closely emulate this particular icon design style for their 'Doors' software.
The icon design project consisted of over 100 indivudual icons in various sizes and icon 'states'.
